Matter Module
[Overview and Design Intentions]
Since CSA published the Matter standard in 2022 as a new standard for smart homes, the standard has spread around the world, becoming especially popular in Europe and the United States. In Japan, too, as the Japan branch of CSA, JIG (Japan Interest Group) was established in 2024, Matter products have grown in popularity. Under this background, Hosiden continues to develop its Matter-compliant modules and associated evaluation boards, and offers the modules as well as ODM/OEM support for custom products using these modules.
Along with the expansion of the Matter-compliant module product portfolio, Hosiden is also preparing to offer various support related to the Matter standard including certification, electrical certificates and OTA (Over The Air) updates.
Examples of the ODM/OEM support we offer for air-conditioners are as follows.
Replacing the wireless module in an air-conditioner with a Hosiden Matter module enables Matter communication with the MCU without any software changes in existing UART communications.
