Compact Coaxial Plug Cable for Automotive Camera Module

Market needs for automotive components have shifted away from analog cameras and are now in the area of visual aids for digital sensing cameras as used in self-driving vehicles and ADAS. In light of these developments, Hosiden has developed and added to its lineup a compact coaxial plug cable for automotive camera modules that increases flexibility of the camera installation location, to expand its share in the automotive camera connector markets.
This latest cable is both robust and waterproof when connected, and it has a low profile, protruding only approximately 10 mm (depending on the enclosure on the camera side) from the camera case when connected. Also, with its unique shielding design, it promises excellent transmission performance as well as EMC conformity, supporting high-speed signals of 6 Gbps or higher.
There are two types of plug cable available, straight and angled, according to the location of the camera installation. Plug-profile can be customized on request. Regarding camera modules for car interiors, no waterproof types are available.
As the cable can be fitted into the Hosiden board-mounted receptacle for camera modules (CMS2200), the camera profiles can be easily expanded without need of design changes to the camera board .
