High-performance FAKRA cable connector supporting large-diameter, low-loss cables
[Overview and Design Intentions]
In order to meet the requirements of high-speed automotive connector and harnesses, Hosiden has developed FAKRA cable connectors supporting large-diameter, low-loss cables typically used in applications such as Electronic Control Units for autonomous driving and advanced safety systems as well as the latest communications infrastructure standards such as 5G and V2X.
With its optimized structure, the connector supports not only 1.5DS cables but also 2DS cables with lower attenuation over longer transmission distances, thus drastically improving the high-frequency characteristics compared to our conventional products. The connector satisfies the stringent requirements with regard to transmission characteristics required for the next-generation automotive SER/DES (Serializer/Deserializer), by assuring a wide bandwidth of DC-10GHz, which covers the frequency bands of next-generation communication standards. The product also satisfies all the EMC performance standards defined by automotive and SER/DES manufacturers defined in the electrical characteristics requirements for connectors and harness assemblies.
