Hosiden has developed a compact, low-power wireless charging system utilizing NFC technology. With its high carrier frequency, its coil can be easily miniaturized, making this system suitable for integrating into systems requiring miniaturization such as wearable devices.
As it has the capability to supply power as well as NFC communication using a single coil, the system can supply power and collect sensing data simultaneously.
As the functionality of wearable devices increases, so does their power consumption. This makes conventional wired charging methods problematic in that these devices may require frequent charging or countermeasures against sweat or other contamination of connectors (such as protection of electrical contacts or waterproofing). Also, conventional non-contact charging systems that use a base frequency of 100 kHz have larger charging coils, presenting greater difficulties for miniaturization. This new product has solved these problems, contributing to increase the value-added aspect of wearable devices.
[Product Name]
・NFC wireless charging system
[Model Number]
・HVE1336 (Power receiving unit)
・HVE1337 (Charge stand)
・Higher carrier frequency of 13.56 MHz compared to other wireless charging systems, permitting effective coil miniaturization
・The power receiving unit is compatible with NFC Type3; data communication at 212kbps is available in addition to being a non-contact power supply
・Due to the non-contact design, waterproofing/dustproofing protection is practical. No electrical contacts are exposed, which makes this a corrosion-proof design.
・Wearable devices, including wireless headphones, smartwatches
・Sensor devices
