Ultra Low-profile Coaxial Camera Connector

[Overview and Design Intentions]

Hosiden has developed “Ultra Low-profile Coaxial Camera Connector” (Rear-case Assembly: CMS2406 / Plug: HPC2121) for in-vehicle camera high-speed digital communication. The board connectors utilize CMS2220 (receptacle), floating type connectors which are now at the stage of mass production preparation. Sample sales for in-vehicle camera modules will start from April 2025.

Even though it has a low-profile of only 17 mm for its total mated height (measured from the PCB to the top face of the plug), the connector easily snaps into place, allowing positive and secure insertion with almost no possibility of poor connection. For receptacle mating, the product mechanism is designed such that it will tolerate ± 0.5mm misalignment in all X, Y, and Z directions. Even when the connector is at the limit of its misalignment tolerance, it is still able to support high-speed signal transmission of up to 6 Gbps, a requirement for the next-generation SER/DES.

The material of the rear enclosure can be either metal or resin. We can also customize the product for shape and/or waterproofing according to customer needs.

[Features]

1) Rear-case Assembly can be mated with the plug using our easy snap-fit mechanism

2) Rear-case Assembly can be mated with the receptacle using a floating mechanism that can tolerate up to ± 0.5mm
　mis alignment in X, Y, and Z directions

3) With the above 1) and 2) assured, the height from the PCB to the plug top face is 17 mm (ultra low-profile).
